Minster Christian Centre is an independent evangelical church which was founded in 1927. In 1995 it appointed its first part time pastor to introduce a "fresh-start" initiative with the aim of revitalising an ageing and financially declining congregation. In February 1999 the church was strengthened by the "transplant" of 20 people from Highfields Free Church. As a result of this, it has recently appointed its first full time pastor, Alex Collins, who joined us in Autumn 2001. Minster is a member of the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches).

At the heart of the Christian message is the good news that sinful human beings can know forgiveness and a restored relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Minster is made up people of all ages and from a wide range of backgrounds who are committed to following him. As his followers, we seek to be a worshipping, nurturing and witnessing community rooted in the truth of the Bible. This is reflected in the priority given to consecutive, expository Bible teaching in the main church services.

Those who visit Minster find it a warm and caring church family, a place where people are accepted and valued. Those with recognised gifts are encouraged to use their abilities to the blessing of the church and the advancement of the gospel.
